An access log is a thorough list of all the files which were accessed by the visitors of a given site. Every single file which was requested for some reason shall be listed, so if you have one page with 3 embedded pics, one video and one embedded text file, for instance, the access log shall contain a total of six entries - one for every of the six files which were accessed when the site visitor opened the page. A log typically contains the file name and path, the date, in addition to the visitor’s OS, web browser and IP address. When you sign in to your shared hosting account and go to this section, you will find a list of all the domain names and subdomains which you have. All it takes to enable the generation of access logs is to press a button that'll be available next to every single domain/subdomain. In case the option is active, you shall see a download link together with the file size so far, so you shall be able to save the file to your PC and view it or process it with some program. Enabling or disabling the logs becomes effective immediately, so if you no longer require one, you can stop it with a click from the very same section of the Control Panel. You will still be able to access the already developed content by simply clicking the Download link.
Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting
When you have a semi-dedicated server account with our company, it shall not take more than a few mouse clicks to permit the generation of access logs by our system if you require them. The function can be enabled through the Hepsia hosting Control Panel and this can be done individually for each domain name or subdomain that you have in your account. After you log in and navigate to the Access/Error Logs section of the Control Panel, you will see a list of all the hostnames with an On/Off button next to all of them. One click will trigger the log generation and another one shall disable it, so you can control this feature with great efficiency. A Download link within the same section will permit you to save the generated content as a text file, which you may then use on your computer system. Whether or not the logs are disabled, you will still be able to download the data which has been previously generated.
